In addition to our Product Suite, the WWIO team is thrilled to offer a range of development services for clients who are interested in building apps on the platform. While WWIO is designed to be accessible to everyone with a modest knowledge of JavaScript and HTML, many of our clients prefer to hire us to build apps on their behalf. By combining the rapid productivity advantages of WWIO with our team's significant expertise with the platform, we can create apps with incredible efficiency, speed, and cost-effectiveness.
Example Use Cases
When talking with small organizations who are interested in using the platform, we've identified some common themes regarding scenarios where WWIO can be very helpful.
Attendance trackers - Many nonprofits need to keep track of the levels of participation that their programs generate, to demonstrate their impact and engagement to donors. Sometimes this needs to be combined with demographic data for reporting. Building trackers like this is very easy with WWIO.
Mapping and Location Analysis - Many organizations have address data that they want to visualize geographically. We've talked to people who want to see the location of their customers or donors, or want to map some other feature of the world, such as tree locations. It is very easy to build WWIO apps that utilize the Google Maps API to achieve this.
Custom Data Management Tools - Companies often have multiple data sources that they need to connect. Often the data needs to be transformed or cleaned as it is moved. While this task is conceptually simple, unfortunately small orgs often lack the engineering resources to build efficient integrations, and their employees end up doing this work manually in Excel. WWIO is an excellent way to build this kind of custom tooling.
Integration with External APIs - The tech world has a huge range of digital services that is accessible through an "API" - a standardized format for tranferring data to a computer system. You might know that such a service exists, but lack the ability to connect your org's data to it. WWIO is a great way to build custom front-end software to allow your company to take advantage of an external service. In particular, much of the most exciting new Artificial Intelligence systems like ChatGPT can be accessed through APIs, which means your org can potentially use them.
Typical Client Profile
While we are excited to work with any kind of client, we find that organizations with the following traits are the most likely to get value from our services:
Limited In-House Engineering Resources - Companies have unique needs regardless of their size, but those that are too small generally aren't able to develop custom apps to address those needs.
Running Important Workflows from Excel / Google Sheets - If you find yourself using Excel to manage critical data work, you are likely a great candidate for a custom WWIO app. Excel is great for numerical analysis and financial modeling, but it's a poor choice for other types of work. We can build a data tool with a much better user interface.
Misusing a Big Name SaaS Tool - Many SaaS tools like Salesforce and NetSuite offer powerful solutions for important workflows like CRM and inventory management. But smaller orgs often find themselves using those tools for tasks that are outside of the original design. While the sales teams of those companies will insist that this is a fine approach, you will likely end up with a system that is far too complex for your needs.
